Thanks for the podcast, it is very interesting. I am living in Catalonia, and there is a very big difference, on the one hand, Scotland and England fought togheter in the second war world, on the other hand, Spain fascists fought against Catalan people in a civil war.
Thank you for your postcast Only one comment if you allow me Catalonia is not at all comparable with Scotland because has never been a country I do not believe that within EU they manage both cases the same Thank you again
Hi Yolanda. Thanks for listening, and for your continued support. In this episode I was explaining that if Scotland were allowed to rejoin the EU after having left the UK, then it would set a precedent for others to do the same thing, for example, Catalonia. This is a very discussed theme in European politics, and I was comparing the precedent it would set, rather than the actual wish for independence. Does that make sense? Thanks! Alastair
IM AN EAGER FOLLOWER OF YR PODCASTS. YOUR LATEST ONE ABOUT SCOTLAND WAS AS INTERESTING ALL YOUR OTHERS HAVE BEEN. HOWEVER, I TOTALLY DISAGREE WITH YOU WHEN YOU COMPARE SCOTTISH WISH FOR INDEPENDENCE FROM ENGLAND, TO TATALONiA FROM SPANISH!!! SCOTLAND WAS A REIGN, WHEREAS CATALONIA WAS NOT. ! SO I DONT SEE THE SIMILARITIES AT ALL.. MAYBE U SHOULD HAVE A LOOK AT THAT. IN ANY CASE, U ARE AN INCREDIBLE I THAT WONT STOP ME FROM CONTINUING LISTENING TO YR PODCASTS. THANKS A LOT!!!!
