Rhode Island College Radio - 90.7 WXIN FM has been broadcasting from the campus of Rhode Island College in Providence since 1979. The station provides an atmosphere for students to learn the art and skill of radio broadcasting. WXIN Radio is the broadcast service of the students at Rhode Island College and is funded by Student Community Government, Inc.
WMRE began as a low-budget idea in 1983, with call letters WEMO. In 1985 students began the laborious task of creating a modern radio station at Emory. After four years of persistent effort, on January 20, 1989, Emoryâ??s student operated radio station, WMRE, the Voice of Emory, began broadcasting.
