First of all, let me apologize for the bad surround noise on this recording. It was recorded on the sidewalk and my voice sounds on the background. That is because I was away from the microphone and did not wanted to bring my studio microphones. You will listen to a helicopter and a car with loud music in his car with some Norteña music. This is part of Takoma Park's lifestyle.
Putting this to the side, Tabi is an amazing independent musician. We talked about her upbringing, her music idols, her High School band (Written Addiction), music business and how to break yourself from the shell, her performance on Takoma Park Folk Festival, how she wrote music, her transition from a band to a duo and a solo artist, and how her experiences shape her lyrics. She loves the use of metaphors and poetry lover. One of her anecdotes was waking up her parents because she was trying to fit kaleidoscope in a lyric. We shared some of our high school experiences and, definitely, I enjoyed talking to her. This was her first appearance on a podcast, I felt blessed, and I hope that she could have more radio experiences and a lot of gigs. We even thrown names of other female musicians like: Nicole Belanus and Jaimee Harris. Remember to #supportyourlocalband. If you want to know more about her, visit her website at: https://www.tabiterusiak.com/music.
If you have read all of this, I will give/send you a CD free if you copy/paste on my Twitter account the hashtag #supportlocalmusicians.
