Introducing the 2020 Ultimate Pinterest Planner
The Planner Creation Process Back in 2015, I created the first Ultimate Pinterest Planner because I thought that there needed to be an easy way to keep up with what was happening on Pinterest throughout the year.
Pinterest is truly a seasonal platform. The seasonality aspect relates to both the high traffic times on Pinterest, (August to mid-February) as well as to specific holidays.
In their Best Practices Guide, Pinterest has told us to pin content 45 days in advance of seasonal events/holidays. The Planner is designed to facilitate content planning. Print it off and keep it on your desk for handy reference during your content planning process.
I could sell this planner because it’s such an awesome resource (kudos to my Creative Director Tina!). But instead, I wanted to make sure it was something you could get for free.
This is not a freebie that we throw together at the last minute each year. The creation process is very intentional. Our creative director, Tina, has been working on it since July. She’s poured her heart, soul, sweat (and perhaps a few tears!) into this year’s Ultimate Pinterest Planner.
No Fluff! I’m not big on sharing a lot of extraneous information. I’m the kind of person who wants to just get straight to the point. That’s why you won’t find ANY FLUFF in the Ultimate Pinterest Planner. Instead, what you will find is useful information on every single page.
I strongly recommend going to an office supply store to print it and have it bound. This way, it’s so easy to have it on hand so you can record your stats each month.
When you sign up for the Planner, you’ll also get access to our weekly newsletter.
This newsletter gives you the most up-to-date Pinterest marketing information. I share recent critical articles, content inspiration, etc. The weekly newsletter comes out every Wednesday and really helps you grow more in your Pinterest marketing knowledge.
Plan. Pin. Grow. With this new version of the Planner, your goal is to plan, pin, and grow.
We have included information on what to pin, content planning ideas, and monthly action tips. We’ve included a new Resources section and a to-do checklist.
Like in previous versions of the Planner, this version includes a Tracking Your Stats page. In addition, we have also included space to record stats on each monthly page (so you now have multiple ways to keep track).
You may notice that there is not a place to track your monthly viewer number. This was an intentional omission. That number does NOT pay your bills. It’s more important to be tracking clicks and repins, since those metrics can actually lead to sales and growth in your business.
In this version of the Planner, we share tips on creating images that convert to clicks. There’s a bonus section on Pinterest video tips, as well as all our favorite business tools.
The information contained in the Planner is comprehensive and not designed for you to consume all at once. Pace yourself by consuming the information on a monthly basis throughout the whole year.
How to Use the 2020 Ultimate Pinterest Planner Start with tracking your stats. Go through the last year and use one of the back pages to jot down those stats. What did you get as far as saves or sessions to your sites? What were the changes in your Pinterest marketing strategy that you made over the last year?
I don’t want you digging into the weeds and becoming overwhelmed. Just get an idea of what these numbers are. Don’t get too caught up in the tactics. Focus on your strategy.
Look at your analytics. Make sure you know who your avatar is. Write down a clear description of her or him.
Make note of your traffic peaks and valleys. Take stock of the previous year so that you can use those stats as a reference point for this year.
Write down your goals for 2020.
Set your goals, not just for yourself, but for the people you are trying to serve. How can you really reach them in 2020?
Share How You Use It! The planner is very simple and straightforward. You won’t open it up and feel overwhelmed or not know what to do. I want you to grow an effective business without having to take any crazy extra steps.
After you print your Planner, take a picture and tag me on Instagram @simplepinmedia (use the hashtag #SIMPLEPINPLANNER) a so I can see how you are using the Planner.
I’ll share it with my audience so that we can be inspired by each other!
