On this Episode, number 68, of the “Just Bein’ Honest” Podcast, I am cozying up with the Co-Founders of Bakeology Cookie Bites, Sasha Crescentini and Dawn Martel.
Sasha Crescentini grew up in Malibu, CA, baking in the kitchen with her mother and grandmother. After college, Crescentini decided she was more suited for an entrepreneurial route and her passion for the culinary world beckoned. Her baking career was launched in the spring of 2011 when she was experimenting in the kitchen with her close friend, who had recently found out she was gluten intolerant. They began baking everything from cakes, cookies and pies, to loaves of sweet bread.
With the growing demand for gluten free options, the friends created a Malibu based delivery and catering service. The friends eventually parted ways to pursue their own endeavors, and shortly thereafter Bakeology was born.
Around the same time, Crescentini’s mother Dawn was working on a restaurant concept. Crescentini’s father proposed that the two work together. The mother-daughter duo looked at each other in agreement and have not looked back since, formalizing their partnership and forming Bakeology.
With mother’s extensive background in baking and cooking techniques from the Ashram’s French-trained pastry chef and onward culinary training - Dawn was internally challenged with omitting such classical ingredients to compliment Bakeology’s recipes - but it was meant to be! Bakeology Cookie Bites came into fruition and is growing faster and tastier than ever!
Let’s nibble up what this mom and dot duo have to offer - it’s that time to turn up the “Just Bein’ Honest” Podcast!
————————————————
Life is certainly an ongoing experiment, and in the case of Bakeology, it’s been a lot about simply going with your gut and taking deep breaths along the way.
One of my favorite takeaways from Sasha and Dawn is that you can make anything happen. Her advice? Reduce the steps, Divide and Conquer and remember… there is room for everyone - so be yourself.
