In 2020, 6.7% of American households have millionaire status. What do they have in common?
Here are 8 things you can do today to start acting more like a millionaire:
Know your financial numbers. Even if it's scary you have to know where you are.
Take control of your fees (think about gyms, cable, etc. that you're not using)
Ensure that you're learning and growing at your current job.
Learn about investing. I recommend some podcasts like Afford Anything, So Money, and Bigger Pockets Money to learn more about reaching financial independence. (Spoiler alert, you’re gonna hear a lot about index funds!)
Analyze the risk in your life and do what you can to reduce it. Do you have health insurance? Car insurance?
Stay open and curious. Listen to people and think about opportunities. If you’re not learning anything in your current job, what can you do to change that? Can you ask for more responsibilities or do you just need to change your job entirely?
Think about a new income stream that you can pursue. Can you save some money for a rental property? Maybe you just need to open an index fund or contribute to your 401k if you’re not already.
Remember that time is limited, so if you can stop trading cash for time then you’ll be more like the rich dad then the poor dad.
