Bethel Nathan of www.elevatebybethel.com is not a photographer but a wedding celebrant based in San Diego USA. In this interview, she shares tactics on how to avoid being ghosted following a photography enquiry.
It happens to all of us… we receive an enquiry, everything sounds great, and you're already counting the dollars to come from working with this fantastic client then… crickets. Nothing. You've been ghosted.
In addition to Bethel's celebrant work, she is also a business coach, speaker and philanthropist. She has an MBA in international business, spent nine years working for global investment banks in Tokyo, New York and London before coming back to her family-owned business as Chief operating officer.
Following all that, she decided to build a business for herself and started Ceremonies by Bethel.
Armed with all her business skills and wedding know-how, Elevate by Bethel was born and she now helps other small business owners in the wedding industry develop and succeed in their pursuits.
When setting up this interview, we threw around a few topics, and one that caught my attention was: All the reasons couples don't book you (and what you need to do differently, so they do!) That's what you'll find in this episode, plus more.

iTunes Reviews and Shout-outs Each week I check for any new iTunes reviews and it's always a buzz to receive these… for a couple of reasons.
Firstly, it's confirmation that I'm on the right track with the interviews and that they really are helping you improve your photography business. That's awesome!
Secondly, iTunes is the biggest search engine when it comes to podcasts and it's your reviews and ratings that help other photographers find PhotoBizX. More listeners mean more interviews and ultimately a better show.
If you have left a review in the past, thank you! If you haven't and you'd like to, head to https://photobizx.com/itunes and you can leave some honest feedback and a rating which will help both me and the show and I'll be sure to thank you on the show and add a link to your website or blog if you let me know the URL of your website and your name.
Alternatively, if you've left a review for PhotoBizX and are looking for more backlinks to help your SEO, leave a review for the new Photography Xperiment Podcast and email me your keywords or keyword phrase and where you'd like me to link to.
Another great way to get a backlink to your site is to send a video testimonial. It doesn't need to be fancy and your phone will be perfect. Click record and tell me how PhotoBizX has made a difference to you and your photography business.
Here are the latest reviews:
????? in Stitcher Radio by Sydney event photographer, Orlando Sydney from Australia.
I first came across Andrew' podcasts in 2015. It was great then, PhotoBizX in 2019 attracts the best market leaders in their speciality.
Somehow Andrew extracts all the detail very few interviewers could out of their guests. Much of this information you'd only get from paying thousands at conferences, summits or one on one consultations.
Give this podcast a few listens, you'll be glad you did. Information worth $1000's
????? on the PhotoBizX Facebook page by Sydney Pet Photographer, Keefe Tay from Australia
Since starting my Pet Photography business 2 years ago, The Photo Biz Xposed podcast has been easily one of the best and most helpful resources of all time. It is a one-stop place for all the best information from creating saleable photos, to marketing, sales, and photography.
Beyond that, Andrew is so approachable. He seeks to impart his wisdom about running a profitable photography business with humility and is so easy to talk to.
If anyone is ever considering subscribing to Photo Biz Exposed, I'd say just do it! Because you will have access to all this amazing content literally at your fingertips.
????? on the PhotoBizX Facebook page by Asheville photographer, Linnae Haris from Asheville, NC in the USA
One of the BEST podcast and community for photographers!
I‘ve been in business for 9 years and I still get great ideas.
I especially like that Andrew varies things up by hosting photographers in various genres.
It's worth paying the small monthly fee and getting the subscription for premium listeners. He saves all the really good bits for us!

Video Recording App – Vlog Easy For anyone using video as part of their marketing, I purchased an app last week, to record on the phone where it automatically cuts the pauses.
You can add text overlays and it's very easy to use and edit with.
It's no good for Facebook Lives but if they're not for you, this could be a big time saver.
I paid $147 for the lifetime access and am happy with the purchase.
I asked about an affiliate program to be able to rebate PBX Members and have this link:
https://photobizx.com/videoeditor
I can organise a $22 (approx 15%) rebate if you purchase.
Honestly though… only get it if you intend to use it – or trial it for the 14 days. I hate to see anyone buy something and not use it.
Premium members – You'll need to send me your PayPal email address and receipt for the rebate.
This is for iPhone only at the moment.
Thank you! Thanks again for listening and big thanks to Bethel for coming on and sharing her thoughts and ideas on branding, customer relations and building a business we're passionate about to make life fun AND rewarding.
