We Are Greater Than â??iâ? (WAGTâ?iâ?) Radio runs a very simple format which is to give the indie artist a chance! We look to stream local artists who want to gain national and global exposure. Our primary goal is to give the fans (our listening audience) a chance to experience all the music of the world! As in our call letters, We believe that united we are greater than anyone one â??iâ?ndividual. We bring that unity into every project, every show, and every message. Our mission is not to have the largest audience of fans and artists but to make an impact on the world of music simply because We Are Greater Than â??iâ?!

CHIRP Radio is committed to playing the best in new, independent and underrepresented music with the deep sense of history to back it all up. That means spotlighting new music you havenâ??t heard before without neglecting older music that you havenâ??t heard in far too long. It means going beyond the one or two standout singles, spanning the gaps between disparate scenes, genres and eras and giving listeners a radio experience theyâ??re not going to find on any other station. We refuse to condescend to our audience or pretend to be hipper than thou, but weâ??re also not afraid to take our playlists where mainstream radio fears to tread. Weâ??re inextricably bound to this city that we call home, to Chicagoâ??s people and culture and most of all its incredible music, which weâ??re proud to support every single hour of our broadcast day. We want to be your friend with the most amazing record collection youâ??ve ever heard. But mostly, we just hope you like what weâ??re playing as much as we do.

SU Upstream Radio is a result of the combined inspiration of University students Nathan McDowell, Jake Stover, Curt Lockhart, Daniel Kelling, and Haden Olmsted. Through a class project, McDowell, Stover, and Lockhart created a business plan in the Spring of 2011. That plan has since come to fruition to bring the community SU Upstream Radio. Our vision at SU Upstream Radio is to bring Shenandoah University and its surrounding community together by means of a student-run college radio station that will keep everyone both entertained and informed about new music, music on campus, current events, weather, traffic, and both global and local news.
